Welcome to The Horton Smith House Restaurant and Country Inn.  

Nestled in the beautiful Northern Catskill Mountains, this turn of the century Victorian home was expanded by a gentleman by the name of  Horton Smith in the early 1900s, where it has remained an operating Inn for over 100 years.

Located just 2 - 1/2  hours north of  New York City and 1 hour south of Albany.    We have 14 guest rooms, warm accommodations, fine food and casual atmosphere.  Breakfast complimentary with your stay during the peak ski season and any time with the booking of a group of 25 or more.  We also offer free wireless internet service.

The Horton Smith House offers 4 seasons of vacationing:   Located just 1.5 miles from Windham Mountain and 6 miles from Hunter Mountain, the Catskill Mountains hosts the best skiing and snowboarding upstate New York has to offer.  Both mountains offer trails from beginners to experts.  Spring and Summer offers great golfing ,fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV trail riding, mountain festivals, and safe scenic mountain roads to ride your motorcycles.  Fall brings a blaze of color to the mountains with the fall foliage spectacular, the vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red are breathtaking.
